  • This crane can be adjusted to four different boom positions.
  • It has a steel frame to handle heavy loads.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How to install this Westward hydraulic engine crane?

A.

  • Take swivel casters and attach them to the front extension legs and rear extension legs using washers and bolts.
  • Place the rear extension leg and front extension legs inside the base frame with the casters facing down.
  • Secure them with bolts in the frame and tighten the bolts.
  • Position the post on the base frame. Place struts on each side of the post at the top and secure them with bolts and nuts. Do not tighten yet.
  • Position the bottom of the support on the inside of the base frame and secure it with bolts and nuts.
  • Attach the base bracket to the hydraulic unit using bolts and nuts.
  • Secure the hydraulic unit assembly onto the post.
  • Place the boom on top of the post. Pump the ram using the handle until the ram is approximately 2 inches above the top.
  • Position the front mounting bracket on the boom, on top of the ram and secure it with a bolt and nut.
  • Slide the boom extension inside the boom, ensuring that the slot for the chain & hook assembly faces downwards.
  • Slide the chain and hook through the slot in the lower front of the boom extension and secure it.

Q. How to release air from this crane's hydraulic system?

A.

Air can enter the hydraulic system during shipment or handling, resulting in poor lifting performance. To correct this:

    • Turn the release valve anticlockwise two full turns.
    • Pump hydraulic unit about six full strokes.
    • Close the release valve and continue pumping until the boom reaches several feet.
    • Open the release valve and gradually lower the boom.

Q. How to avoid rusting of this Westward hydraulic engine crane?

A.

  • Every three months, check the ram and plunger for rust or corrosion.
  • Use an oily cloth to clean up as needed.

Q. How to store Westward 3ZC71 hydraulic engine crane?

A. When not in use, store the crane with the legs folded and secured using the bolt pins and R lock pins.

Q. How to properly fill oil in this Westward crane?

A.

  • Make sure the boom is in the lowered position.
  • Remove the oil fill plug from the hydraulic unit.
  • Squirt clean hydraulic jack oil into the hole.
  • Fill to the level of the filler hole and do not overfill.

Q. What safety precautions should I take when using a hydraulic engine crane?

A.

  • Inspect the crane for any damage or defects before each use.
  • Ensure the load is properly secured and balanced before lifting.
  • Keep bystanders clear of the lifting area.
  • Never exceed the crane's rated capacity.
  • Lower the load to the ground before making any adjustments or repairs to the crane.
