Reed Instruments R5050 clamp meter is designed to measure AC / DC, voltage, resistance and frequency values in various applications.
Features:
- It features a 4000-count LCD with a 42-segment analogue bar graph to display up to 4000 different values within a range and represent quantitative increments like a scale on the graph.
- It includes low battery and over-range indicators for user convenience and a control panel for functionalities like min / max, display & peak hold and relative mode.
- It offers true RMS sensing measurements to determine the heating potential on an applied voltage.

Q. What is the auto turn-off function?
A. The clamp meter turns off automatically when the measured value remains constant for about 10 minutes and when neither a pushbutton nor the function selector switch is operated during this time.
Q. What is a continuity check?
A. A continuity test is a quick check to see if a circuit is open / closed (only a closed circuit has continuity). During a continuity test, a clamp meter sends a small current through the circuit to measure resistance (audible signal if resistance is above 100 ohms) in the circuit.
Q. What are the safety measures when using a clamp meter?
A.
- Ensure that the battery door is closed and latched before using the meter.
- Remove the test probes from the meter before the battery door is opened.
- Do not measure current while the test probes are inserted into the input jacks.
- Avoid operating the meter with the back cover removed or the case open.
