Product Details:
Milwaukee 1570CB2 swing check valve is mounted on a pipeline with a disc that swings on a hinge or shaft. The disc swings off the seat when forward flow is needed. As the flow stops, the disc swings back onto the seat to block the reverse flow by creating a bubble-tight shut-off.
Features:
- It has a horizontal full port design to avoid reduction of flow when water goes from the pipe to the valve.
- It features a pinned rotating disc that offers improved sealing to prevent backflow and reduces the chances of shock or water hammer in the pipeline.
- This 6-inch check valve features flanged end connections with bolt holes to hold flanges on the pipe and allow easy installation & removal.

A.
- Clean and prepare the piping system before valve installation.
- Remove the valve caps (if present) and inspect the valve ports & seating surfaces for cleanliness prior to installation.
- Support the valve to avoid unnecessary stresses induced by the connecting pipe.
- Bolt the flange in line and use full-face gaskets.
- Operate the valve from the fully open to the closed position.
- Verify the tightness of the packing nut / gland after installation.
Q. Can the swing valve be installed upside down?
A. The check valve's FLOW arrow must point in the direction of the flow. During horizontal installations, the designated side must be positioned 'up'. However, it is not advisable to install the valve upside down because gravity will cause the disc to slam against the seat when the flow stops, leading to a potential water hammer.
