Product Details:
Mag-Mate XX6029 magnetic polarity tester is designed for determining the orientation of a magnetic field, that is, whether a magnetic pole is a North (N) or South (S) pole.
Features:
- This handy magnetic device provides an instant zero-delay magnetic pole indication in packaging, testing coils and during the assembly of electric motors.
- It comes with a push-button actuator that activates the built-in electronic circuitry that indicates the appropriate magnetic pole.
- It has a rugged design, with no moving parts, ensuring zero-inertia response and can be readable in the dark and where access is difficult.
- It features a probe fitted at the tip of the pole tester with a sensitivity of +/- 15 mT, allowing reliable indications even with closely spaced pole transitions. The neutral zone of the magnet can also be precisely identified in the same manner.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Why is an electronic pole tester considered better than a mechanical tester?
A. In a mechanical pole tester, the polarity of the sensor magnet might be reversed by the action of the pulse fields. As a result, the device might indicate the very opposite of the actual magnetic polarity. The electronic pole tester does not exhibit this disadvantage and gives accurate and precise results at all times, allowing usage in the highly sensitive bearing assembly.
Q. How to detect the pole in a system?
A. Place the sensor end of the pen-shaped tester close to a magnet and press the button. If a magnetic field is detected the buzzer will sound and the red (North) or the green (South) LED will light up accordingly.
