Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What type of aerosol cans can be recycled?
A. About 40% of aerosol cans are made from aluminium and 60% from tin-plated steel, both of which are recyclable metals. Aerosol cans also comprise small rubber and plastic components, such as the dip tube, lid & valve, which are eliminated during the recycling process.
Q. What maintenance does this Aerosolv puncturing unit require?
A. It requires periodic maintenance, including the cleaning / lubrication of the puncture pin and the replacement of the gasket installed inside the unit to provide a seal against the can.
Q. Can the liquids collected into the drums be reclaimed or recycled?
A. Yes, if non-chlorinated & chlorinated liquids are collected into separate drums, they can be recycled in-house as part cleaning solvents (chlorinated) or reclaimed (non-chlorinated).
Q. How many spent aerosol cans can be punctured into a drum?
A. Approximately 4200 aerosol cans can be punctured before the drum is at the maximum recommended capacity. The drum should not be filled more than 75% for proper displacement of released contents.
