About Hanson

The brand's extensive catalogue includes rivet squeezers, number tags, key rings, riveting tools, rivet crimpers, security seals and blind and solid rivets. Hanson rivets are designed for attaching nameplates and signs and fixing sheet metal workpieces in automotive maintenance & repair services. These rivets are used to resist pull-outs and cracks in the workpiece and are ideal for use with soft and brittle materials, like plastics. The brand's structural blind rivets offer high strength and greater clamp-up force. This clamping mechanism provides a mechanical lock that delivers complete mandrel retention. Choose from a wide range of Hanson rivets, available in brass, mild steel, stainless steel and 2117T4 aluminium materials.

Hanson Rivet Drill Guide

This simple tool allows easy removal of installed rivets. The kit includes five different drill guides (made of hardened steel) and five matching Jobber bits and Boelube paste. The Hanson drill guide centres a drill bit on a protruding style rivet head so that it gets easier to drill through the rivet without any prior experience. Once the head is drilled, the shank can be either drilled through or knocked out. The guide is compatible with round, universal, pan, brazier, oval and truss style rivet heads and is available in diameters of 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16 and 1/4 inches.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of Jobber bits?

Jobber bits are used in wood, composite and soft metals. These bits are longer and are applicable for a wide variety of applications. They are heavy-duty and penetrate faster with lower fatigue and less breakage than standard drills.

What is Boelube?

Boelube is a type of lubricant that improves tool life, surface and hole quality. This paste minimises heat generation and maintains the effectiveness of single-point tools, such as tapping, drilling and reaming. Boelube paste when applied in the tools, retains cutting edges and leads to closer tolerances and prime chip yield.

What are blind rivets used for?

Blind rivets are designed to attach hard materials, such as sheet metal and metal objects when there is no access to the rear (blind side) of the joint. The applications include fastening wall or ceiling decorations, attaching nameplates and signs; attaching hinges, door knobs, drawer pulls, handles and more.
