Eaton HFD3050 circuit breaker is an Eaton C Series circuit breaker ideal for protecting devices from electrical damage caused by excess current or short circuits. Its current-carrying parts, trip device & mechanisms are housed inside a moulded case having F-frame for operating at temperatures ranging from -4 to 158 degrees C.

- Eaton HFD3050 circuit breaker accommodates 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG wires inside its load side lug terminals.
- This complete breaker features fixed thermal & magnetic contacts for a superior tripping performance and long-time and instantaneous current limiting protection.
- Its bolt-on mounting style allows easy installation on panels or switchboards.
- This 3-pole circuit breaker operates at a maximum trip setting of 225A & a minimum trip setting of 15A.
- The unit has three indicated positions (ON, OFF and trip) on the sliding handle barrier shown with the international symbols I / 0 and colour-coding strip indicating red for ON, white for tripped and green for OFF.

A.
- First, make sure that this Eaton HFD3050 is the appropriate circuit breaker for the application.
- Use a bolt drilling plan, ensuring that the mounting panel is predrilled. Only the load-end support mounting holes are needed for panelboard mounting. Make sure the panel cover is cut out to correct the escutcheon dimension in dead front cover applications.
- Mount the unit on the panel or mounting surface while making sure that the accessory wirings can be reached. Install & tighten the mounting screws, washers & nuts.
- Install an optional terminal end cover if required. Connect the line & load terminals and accessory leads. Install the terminal shield & interphase barrier if needed.
- Finally, check all the mounting & terminal connecting hardware.
Q. What are points to inspect before operating this Eaton HFD3050 circuit breaker?

- Remove the dust, dirt, grease or moisture from the unit.
- Check that the mechanical linkages are free by switching the unit ON & OFF several times.
- Press the push-to-trip button at the bottom side of the unit to mechanically trip & test the proper functioning of the circuit breaker.
- Inspect the unit of any cracks, chipping or discolouration. Tighten the terminals & connectors. Check the mounting hardware.
