Dwyer Mark II WSI wind speed indicator is suitable for measuring air velocity, air temperature, pressure, relative humidity & windchill factors. This pneumatic unit is designed to work on the principle of aircraft speed indicators.
Features:
- It comes with a weather-resistant ABS vane to measure air velocity from 0 to 80 mph and 1 to 12 Beaufort scale. It also has an integrated spirit level vial to maintain a horizontal plane for precise readings and a zero knob for resetting readings & ensuring proper filling of gauge fluid.
- This indicator is made of moulded plastic to resist breakage and features a red gauge fluid for providing a distinct reading on the dual scale.
- It includes an ABS plastic vane, 50 ft tubing, mounting hardware, a 3/4 oz bottle of gauge liquid and an instruction manual.
- This wind movement testing device is used in HVAC, engineering and weather forecasting applications.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. How to determine the wind direction using this wind speed indicator?
A. To determine the wind direction, check the Mark II weather vane position.
Q. How to install the Dwyer Mark II device?
A.
- Mount the weather vane assembly outdoors, as high as possible and away from diverting effects of trees, roof pitch or other structures. Make sure that the weather vane rotates freely.
- Thread the dual-column tubing through slots in the mounting bracket and tape it loosely to relieve strain.
- Run tubing to the desired indicator location. It can either be installed inside or outside by using plastic clamps. Free passage of air through both tubes is necessary for an accurate reading.
- Mount the Mark II indicator loosely with a top screw. Centre the bubble at spirit level and install the bottom screw. Tighten both the screws, keeping the level bubble centred.
- Remove reservoir 'fill' plug and carefully fill indicator until the red gauge liquid rises to 'zero mark' on the scale.
- Use zero set knob to make final adjustments and replace the fill plug.
- Seperate the tubes slightly and slip the red striped tube over the left connector & the plain tube to the right connector. If tube connections are in reverse position, the result would be a negative indication.
- The wind speed indicator is now ready to be operated.
