Double Diaphragm Pumps

Versa-Matic air-operated diaphragm pumps have a robust leak-free bolted design which reduces maintenance downtime and are self-priming to handle solids up to 3 inches. These units provide an an ideal combination of flow, size and portability as compared to other pump models, with a maximum flow rate of 163 gpm (617 lpm). They further feature the patented Elima-Matic air valve system for a no stalling, lube-free performance and are available in 1/4 inch, 3/16 inch and 3/8 inch diameter variants on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • When the compressed air fills the left inner chamber, the opposing diaphragm creates suction to lift the lower valve ball.
  • This suction mechanism pulls in the fluid from the inlet.
  • When the compressed air fills the right inner chamber, the upper valve ball opens to discharge the fluid.
  • This suction and discharge cycle occurs simultaneously.

Features

  • Versamatic double diaphragm pumps have standard-duty band clamp construction for easy maintenance and minimum downtime.
  • They have Elima-Matic air valves for a lube-free operation and minimum stalling.
  • These self-priming units produce flows up to 234 GPM.
  • They have a Buna-N diaphragm for strength and chemical resistance.
  • These air-operated units can handle fluids of temperatures up to 180 degrees F.

Compatible Accessories

  • Versamatic Bunan Elastomer Kit: This kit is useful for replacing diaphragms and valve balls & seats.
  • Filter and Regulator Assemblies: These assemblies are useful for regular filtering and regulation of flow.
  • Silencers: These units are mounted on the pump exhausts to reduce noise during pump operation.

Standards and Approvals

  • CE
  • EAC
  • ABS, ATEX (selected models)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Versamatic AODD pumps handle solids?

Yes, these pumps can easily handle solids, slurries and suspended solids in various mixtures & viscosities.

Can these pumps run dry?

These double diaphragm pumps can run dry as they do not rely on mechanical seals. Instead, they employ diaphragms to pump the liquid back and forth.

Are Versamatic double diaphragm pumps safe for mining?

Since these pumps are air-operated and do not require electricity for operation, they are safe for potentially explosive environments like mines.

Can these pumps run against a dead head or closed valve?

Yes, as soon as the discharge pressure exceeds the air input pressure, the pump stops cycling. The pump restarts once the discharge side pressure is released.
