Air Compressor Pumps, Splash Lubricated
Speedaire splash lubricated air compressor pumps offer compressed air to power tools and equipment. These two-stage pumps are suitable for mounting on baseplates or on tanks, particularly constructed for air compressor service. Choose from a range of these air compressor pumps, available in 3/4, 3/8, 1.25 and 1/2 Inch NPT sizes.
Working Mechanism
- These compressors have inlet & outlet valves and a flywheel that rotates in the counterclockwise direction.
- As the flywheel rotates, it draws air in through an inlet port, which traps between the flywheel and the casing.
- As the flywheel rotates and continues to turn, the air volume between them decreases, causing compression.
- The compressed air is then forced out through outlet valves into a storage tank.
Features
- They feature cast iron construction for structural rigidity and high mechanical strength.
- These pumps have splash lubrication, eliminating the need for additional equipment.
- They have stainless steel or Swedish Steel reed / disc valves that ensure increased volumetric & pump efficiency.
- These Speedaire air compressors are equipped with a flywheel for superior balance and vibration damping.
- They are available in 1 and 2-stage variants.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between 1 and 2-stage air compressors?
The basic difference between a 1-stage and 2-stage air compressor is the number of compression stages. Air is compressed once in a 1-stage compressor, while it is compressed twice (for doubling the pressure) in a 2-stage compressor.
What factors must be considered while purchasing air compressor pumps?
- Users should check whether they require reciprocating or rotary-type pumps and whether the applications require a single-stage or multi-stage operation.
- They should also verify the power rating of an air compressor in horsepower (hp). Higher the horsepower, the higher the cost. So, choose the power rating according to application requirements.
- Specific applications require a specific amount of air pressure and airflow rate. Maximum air pressure and rate & volume of airflow offered by an air compressor pump should match the application before purchasing. CFM (cubic feet per minute) denotes the maximum quantity of air a compressor can produce at a preset pressure level.
What is the maximum operating pressure of these Speedaire air compressor pumps?
These air compressors can operate under pressures ranging from 115 to 175 psi.
