Working Mechanism

  • These actuators have microprocessors for controlling the valve stroke length.
  • A zero voltage signal from the actuator retracts the stroke, returning the valve to the normal position.
  • No supply voltage to the actuator maintains the last position of the valve.
  • The manual positioning knob of the actuator should be returned to zero position and the actuator should be attached to the valve.
  • Attach the actuator wires to the terminal plug and insert the plug into the terminal connector.

Features

  • They have direct coupled universal bonnet for enabling installation without any tools.
  • They feature manual override that can be easily adjusted / positioned using a 3 mm hex wrench.
  • Siemens valve actuators have visual position indicators for indicating the actuator's current mode.
  • They provide two position / three position or 0 to 10 VDC control instantly with precision.
  • They have linear flow characteristics for easy programming and connection.
  • Selected models have spring return type operation which is fail safe, ensuring system and valve safety.

Compatible Accessories

  • Terminal Plugs: Siemens terminal plugs are suitable for making electrical connections of valve actuators.
  • Conduit Connectors: They are ideal for connecting conduits to the valve actuators.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL
  • CE

Frequently Asked Questions

What do electronic valve actuators do?

They control the opening & closing of the valves and provide either rotary or linear motion.

Are there any tool requirements for installing valve actuators?

Yes, users need a wire stripper and a small flat blade screwdriver for installing these valve actuators.

What is the difference between spring return & non-spring return valve actuators?

Spring return valve actuators have a spring mechanism to control the valve position and operational state. Non-spring return valves have no such mechanism.

How do valve positioners differ from control valves?

Valve positioners ensure that the valve has reached the needed degree of opening, whereas valve actuators move the valve's modulating element.

Do these actuators require installation clearance?

Yes, the minimum access space recommendation is 8 inches beside the terminal plug and above the actuator.

How can these actuators be mounted?

They can be mounted sideways and should not be mounted in the upside-down orientation.
