HARTELL L4 Series Condensate Pumps

Hartell L4 Series condensate pumps are designed for pumping high volumes of the condensate (water) accumulated in an HVAC, refrigeration or steam system. These units can be easily installed under utility sinks without breaking concrete or drain.

Working Mechanism

  • These pumps work intermittently and are equipped with a tank or reservoir that can store condensate.
  • The flow of hot, humid air is regulated through the cooling coil which generates condensation on the surface of the coil.
  • The resultant condensate flows into the drain pipe and collects into the condensate tank.
  • This process continues until the fluid level touches the tank's top level. A float switch is equipped with a condensate pump that turns on the pump motor operation at this moment.
  • At this stage, the pump starts pumping the accumulated water into a drain pipe until the fluid leaves space in the tank to collect more condensate.
  • This condensate water is then transferred outside of the building through the discharge pipe.

Features

  • They are incorporated with a two-gallon aluminium reservoir to handle large surges of water produced during industrial and commercial air conditioning, refrigerating units or multiple unit installations having several drains into one disposal pump.
  • They are integrated with high-quality motor bearings to provide double protection against steam vapour and water splashes, ensuring improved motor life.
  • They feature robust design elements with excellent oil and chemical resistance and the capability to withstand temperatures up to 150 degrees F.
  • They are equipped with a stainless steel float to turn the pump on and off and maintain the water level inside the receiver.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to make the right pump selection?

  • Take into account the temperature of the condensate, the amount of condensate being produced at a given time and the maximum pumping head.
  • Ensure that the pump is able to discharge the maximum amount of condensate being produced at the maximum discharge head while minimising the continuous pumping action.

What is unitized construction?

Unitized construction means that the body and frame are assembled as a unit. This fabrication improves quality control and protects the unit from environmental factors.

What is the purpose of an integral junction box?

L4 Series condensate pumps include a junction box that encases electrical connections. The advantage of a junction box is to protect the electrical connections from external factors and reduce the chances of accidental electrical shocks.
