Working Mechanism

  • After the proper installation, the operation of the Hartell condensate pump is automatic.
  • Water is collected in the reservoir and pumped out when the float raises to a pre-set point.
  • As the water level goes down the float turns off the motor at another pre-set point.

Features

  • These pumps are plenum rated and won't give off excessive heat or smoke or burn easily in the event of a fire.
  • They offer polypropylene construction that delivers high impact & corrosion resistance and the capability to handle high temperatures up to 212 degrees F.
  • They feature a slim line reservoir with a capacity of 1 quart and low profile height to easily fit in limited spaces.
  • They come with 1 and 1-3/4 inch inlet sizes for multiple connections and auxiliary safety switch to connect / disconnect electrical contacts when the water level rises / drops in the tank and needs to be discharged out of the system.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL
  • NFPA

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of check valves?

Hartell KL-1DG Series condensate pumps come integrated with check valves for preventing water backflow and condensate in the pipeline.

Are these reservoirs sealed?

No, the polypropylene reservoirs are not sealed.

How to maintain the pumps?

  • Visually inspect the pump seasonally to ensure there is no build-up of any kind inside the unit.
  • Clean the inlet tube if no water is entering the reservoir.
  • If there is a proper amount of water in the reservoir, the float may be stuck due to dirt / algae formation. Flush the reservoir with warm water and a mild soap or detergent.
  • Inspect the discharge tubing to ensure it is clear, making sure the tubing end is not plugged.
  • Also make sure the check valve is not clogged. In case it is, unplug the pump and remove the fitting. Clean with mild soap or detergent.
