TEB Series Circuit Breakers

General Electric E150 Line, TEB frame moulded case circuit breakers provide overcurrent and short-circuit protection when used with GE panelboards. These feed-thru breakers feature a thermal magnetic trip for both instantaneous and long-time overcurrent protection. They are equipped with line & load side lug terminals to accommodate aluminium and copper wires. These 3 phase breakers have a standard interrupt capacity of 10kA at 240 VAC. TEB frame circuit breakers are available in 2 and 3 pole configurations on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • TEB series circuit breakers use a thermal-magnetic trip unit for circuit protection.
  • The thermal-magnetic trip unit has a bimetallic strip and an electromagnetic coil that respond to overcurrent and short circuit conditions.
  • The bimetallic strip operates based on the temperature rise caused by the current passing through it, while the electromagnetic coil operates based on the magnetic field generated by the current.

Features

  • General Electric TEB Series circuit breakers come with a moulded case that holds trip devices and current-carrying components.
  • They feature a thermal-magnetic trip unit to provide long-time and instantaneous trip functions for current limiting protection.
  • These units further offer an interrupt rating of 10kAIC and an operating voltage of 240V.
  • Selected models, such as TEB132Y100 circuit breaker has an interrupt rating of 14kAIC at 240V.
  • These circuit breakers have a feed-thru connection that allows for easy installation and connection of multiple devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many poles are available in these TEB Series circuit breakers?

These GE TEB Series circuit breakers have 2 / 3 pole configuration for protecting up to 3 electrical circuits.

What are the points to inspect before operating General Electric TEB Series circuit breakers?

  • Check if the circuit breakers are properly installed and secured in the electrical panel.
  • Ensure that the circuit breakers have the correct size and rating for the application.
  • Inspect the wiring and connections to ensure that they are tight and secure.
  • Check that the circuit breaker's mechanical linkages, like the toggle actuator, are free to move by switching the unit ON & OFF several times.
  • Clean the dust, dirt, grease, moisture and any safety hazards near the circuit breaker area.
