EATON CNDC Series Electronic Molded Case Circuit Breakers, NG Frame

Eaton CNDC Series electronic moulded case circuit breakers use electronic components (sensors & microprocessors) to control and monitor the electrical circuit. These NG frame units protect against overloading and short-circuiting in electrical systems.

Working Mechanism

  • When an overloading or short-circuit condition is detected, the microprocessor in the unit quickly calculates the amount of current flowing in the circuit and compares it to a predetermined threshold.
  • If the current exceeds the threshold, the electronic moulded case circuit breaker sends a signal to activate a tripping mechanism, which opens the circuit and interrupts the flow of current.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are electronic moulded case circuit breakers(EMCCBs) different from traditional mechanical circuit breakers?

EMCCBs use electronic components & microprocessors to control and monitor the electrical circuit, whereas traditional mechanical circuit breakers rely on mechanical components & manual resetting.

Can electronic moulded case circuit breakers be reset after a trip?

Yes, these units can be reset after a trip. Once the fault condition has been cleared, flip the trip unit to reset the breaker.

What are the advantages of the three-pole configuration?

Three-pole circuit breakers are helpful in switchboards and panelboards with dense circuitry as they can protect up to three different circuits.
