Working Mechanism

  • A compensator spool in this pump moves over against the spring force when the outlet pressure reaches the compensator setting allowing the pump outlet pressure to reach the internal servo piston.
  • Servo piston surface area and pressure result in a force pushing the swash plate, thus reducing piston travel in the rotating group, resulting in lower flow rates at the pump outlet.
  • The spring force forces the compensator spool back in the other direction when the system pressure drops below the compensator setting.
  • A case drain line then returns oil from the servo piston chamber to the tank via the oil in the piston chamber.
  • By reducing the servo piston force, the bias spring pushes the swash plate back on stroke at full angle and flow.
  • Pump then maintains the compensator pressure by providing whatever flow is necessary to maintain that pressure.

Features

  • They offer compact aluminium housing to resist corrosion on exposed surfaces.
  • These open circuit pumps comply with ISO Cleanliness Code 18/13 to prevent contamination.
  • They are equipped with backplates with side & rear porting and have a maximum rated speed of 2500 RPM.
  • They come with a cam plate to distribute oil flow in unreachable areas.
  • These pressure-flow compensated piston pumps come with 2 SAE mounting flanges to resist high pressure.
  • They are equipped with a pressure compensator spool to modulate the constant flow for maintaining a constant flow rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the continuous rated pressure and maximum intermittent pressure of Eaton 70553 Series pressure-flow compensated piston pumps?

Eaton 70553 Series open circuit piston pumps have a continuous rated pressure of 210 bar and maximum intermittent pressure of 265 bar.

What are the installation requirements for these pressure-flow compensated piston pumps?

  • Install the piston pumps so that the case drain assures an oil level at or above the unit centre line.
  • The oil level should be at the centre line or above before starting the piston pump.
  • Ensure that the case drain line is of sufficient size for limiting the case pressure to 2 bar.
  • The combined torque needed to turn two or more pumps should not go beyond the torque rating of the shaft in these piston pumps.

What does the ISO cleanliness code 18/13 mean in these piston pumps?

The ISO cleanliness code 18/13 allows 2500 particles per millilitre greater than 5 microns and a maximum of 80 particles per millilitre greater than 15 microns to pass through the pump.
