Working Mechanism
- When the coil is energised, the armature and pallet are drawn to the core and instantly move downward, closing or opening the action contact.
- The thinner air in the chamber causes the piston rod to be damped and slowly descend as it starts to descend due to the released spring.
- The moving contacts open and close when the piston rod descends to a specific position after a predetermined amount of time, at which point the delay contact action is applied through the lever.
- The time spent between energising the coil and the end of the delay contact action is called the delay time.
