Rod ends act as connectors to secure, support or suspend loads and allow motion control in industrial machinery & automobile applications. They maintain a fixed contact point between two parts while allowing some rotational freedom in all three axes. Raptor Supplies offers rod ends from brands like Chicago Hardware, Buyers Products and Ken Forging. They are ideal for applications involving tensioning, steering or controlling movements at pivot joints / points.
Features
- Rod ends have a shaft or hole to connect easily with other components.
- The shaft / hole are arranged in a manner such that their axes are perpendicular to each other at the centre of rotation for the spherical joint.
- They offer rigid movement without any bending for precise & predictable control.
- Rod ends generally have a hole through the spherical joint's centre and a protrusion coming out of the spherical joint's casing.
- This protrusion may be a threaded shaft (male) or a tapped hole (female) for fitting specific application requirements.
- They can be cut to the desired length and attached with hex nuts for added security.
- Chicago Hardware rod ends have machined threads for secure holding and black oxide coated steel construction for structural rigidity & light corrosion resistance.
- Chicago Hardware blank rod ends come in hot rolled steel & stainless steel variants for strength & corrosion resistance, respectively. They are forged blank for allowing custom threading.
- Ken Forging machined rod ends are made of drop forged carbon steel having black oxide coating or stainless steel. They are fully threaded, with the last complete thread at a minimum distance of 1/4 inches from the head.
