- As the fluid exits through the valve, the pressure within the system starts to decrease.
- Once the pressure decreases to a safe level, the spring's force becomes greater than the fluid force, causing the valve to close the opening.
- By releasing excess pressure, the safety relief valve prevents any damage to the system, equipment or personnel that could result from an overpressure event.
